TEST TW WEATHER

Early Voting Information

Just wanting to clear up some information on what the “Early Voting” that started this week in Wisconsin is as there seems to have been a big push to “vote early” for the General Election that is happening on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
This “Early Voting” is called In-Person Absentee Voting (IPAV).
This is offered at EVERY election. Per Wisconsin State Statutes 6.86(1)(b), application shall be made no earlier than 14 days preceding the election and no later than the Sunday preceding the election – however, IPAV can end before that date. IPAV hours are specified on the Type E Notice that is published for, again, every election.
The interested voter will come into the Clerk’s office and complete an absentee ballot application (PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED) and once the application is reviewed by the Clerk, a ballot is given to the voter to complete in the witness of the Clerk. The ballot is then sealed in an official absentee ballot envelope, signed by the voter, signed by the Clerk as the witness, and then locked away until election day where it is then opened and placed in the election machine to be counted.
Appointments are preferred as there may be other things going on during IPAV but they are not required.
IPAV hours for the Village of Rock Spirngs are:
10/24/24 – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
10/29/24 – 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
10/31/24 – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Voters can still request absentee ballots to be mailed to them on myvote.wi.gov up until 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
We hope that this clears up any questions interested voters may have about “early” or IPAV. Please reach out with any questions you may have!
